Sinopsis
En 1869, un guía contratado (Dingle Wall) conduce a una familia mormona desde Salt Lake City en un arduo viaje para fundar un nuevo asentamiento de la Iglesia. Tras un violento enfrentamiento, el guía y el patriarca de la familia (Cedar) deben encontrar la forma de que un grupo compuesto principalmente por mujeres y niños pueda defenderse de un nuevo ataque. Durante el viaje, el guía y una de las esposas (Gwin) forjan un profundo vínculo.
In 1869, a hired guide (Dingle Wall) leads a Mormon family from Salt Lake City on an arduous journey to establish a new church outpost. After a violent encounter, the guide and family patriarch (Cedar) must work out how a party of mostly women and children can defend themselves against the next attack. Along the way, the guide and one of the wives (Gwin) develop a powerful connection.

Craig Packard
Craig Packard es un antiguo profesor de teatro e inglés radicado en Seattle que trabajó como actor y director teatral antes de pasar al cine. Su experiencia como docente le dio la confianza necesaria para dedicarse a la dirección. This Bloody Country es su primer largometraje. Anteriormente escribió y dirigió el premiado cortometraje Bobby Ellis is Going to Kick Your Ass, estrenado en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Seattle. También ha escrito y dirigido varios cortometrajes y videoclips, y sus guiones han sido galardonados en Slamdance, NBC ShortCuts, el Festival de Cine de Austin, CineStory y el Festival Internacional de Cine de Seattle, entre otros.
Craig Packard is a former drama and English teacher based in Seattle who had been a theatre actor and director before making the shift to filmmaking. Being a teacher was fundamental in giving him the confidence to direct. This Bloody Country is his first feature film. Prior to This Bloody Country, he wrote and directed the award winning short Bobby Ellis is Going to Kick Your Ass which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival. He has written and directed shorts, music videos, and scripts and received screenwriting awards from Slamdance, NBC ShortCuts, Austin Film Festival, CineStory, and Seattle International Film Festival, among others. Craig’s influences include Billy Wilder, who was never hemmed in by any particular style or genre, but who told great stories, well crafted.
