SECCIÓN A COMPETICIÓN
Cortometrajes de nacionalidad española o extranjera con temáticas wéstern o neowéstern, de ficción, documental o de carácter experimental, con una duración máxima de 15 minutos (incluyendo títulos de crédito) y con fecha de estreno posterior al 1 de enero de 2024.
Son reglas indispensables que el/la director/a de la obra haya cumplido los 18 años en la fecha de inscripción, y que las obras se hayan realizado y producido en el contexto académico de un centro de formación audiovisual o cinematográfico.

Rachel C. Kearney
Rachel Christina Kearney is an Irish 2D animator currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Rachel attended the Emily Carr University of Art + Design, earning a Bachelor of Media Arts degree in 2D + Experimental Animation. In 2023, she earned the «Audience Choice” and “Best Animation” Award for her group film “This Was Meant to be For Nora” for the Vancouver Poetry Film Festival. Rachel has experience in animating in short films including Red Moon Cycle (2025) directed by Sydney McConney and Home is A Feeling (2025) directed by Ryah King. In 2026, Rachel directed the film, ABALONE (6 min) and continues to animate on various projects. She uses 2D hand drawn animation to fully capture the silliness and exaggeration of movement in her work to stretch her animation muscles and, most importantly, make people laugh!

Jonna Lutz es una cineasta de Columbus, Ohio, y recién graduada de la Universidad de Ohio. Su obra se distingue por un enfoque particular en la estética gótica y liminal, así como por una fusión única de géneros.

Cade: Cade Evered is a comedic storyteller who explores themes of masculinity, love, and family through surreal and often violent narratives. Drawing from his experience as a writer, director, and producer, his work

Influenciado por películas como El viento se levanta, Todo en todas partes al mismo tiempo y Por unos dólares más, aspira a contar historias que ofrezcan nuevas perspectivas sobre el mundo y transmitan mensajes de impacto que inspiren y den fuerza al público.
Julio Aceituno is a Venezuelan Florida filmmaker and graduate from the Florida State College of Motion Picture Arts with a focus in directing. Influenced by films such as The Wind Rises, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and For A Few Dollars More, he hopes to tell stories that offer new perspectives on the world and provide impactful messages that will embolden and inspire audiences.

The crow that flew west
Sinopsis
Ambientada en un viejo pueblo fronterizo, esta película sigue a Crow, un pistolero silencioso que porta dos revólveres y una flor blanca prendida en el pecho. Su objetivo es Rat, un forajido nervioso que se esconde tras la escopeta de la barman. Lo que comienza como una típica cacería de recompensas se transforma en una meditación surrealista sobre la culpa, el dolor y la chance, con un giro que subvierte las convenciones del wéstern.
Set in a sun-bleached, decaying frontier town, this film follows Crow, a silent gunslinger carrying two guns, and a white flower pinned to his chest. His target: Rat, a nervous outlaw hiding behind a bartender’s shotgun. What begins as a standard bounty job evolves into a surreal and haunting meditation on guilt, grief, and chance; told with a twist that subverts traditional Western expectations.

Riley es un cineasta inglés originario de Devon, Inglaterra. En 2023, él se matriculó en London Film Academy y se graduó en el 2025. Trabajó como Director y Director de fotografía en muchos proyectos, incluyendo películas narrativas y videos de música. Su pasión está en el cine experimentalista y en explorando temas existencialistas.
Riley is an English filmmaker from Devon, England. He prides himself on driving a production forward with creative decision making, and enjoys taking risks on visually ambitious projects.
In 2023, he enrolled at the London Film Academy and graduated in 2025. While there, he worked as a Director and DOP on many projects, including several narrative films and music videos. His passion lies with experimental filmmaking and exploring existentialist subject matter.
