Robert Joe

Robert Joe creció en la comunidad rural de Pelly Crossing, hogar de la nación Tutchone del Norte. En 2013, Robert se convirtió en el primer indígena en graduarse del programa de Artes Cinematográficas de la Universidad de Capilano. En 2012, fue uno de los tres estudiantes seleccionados para dirigir un cortometraje de 10 minutos titulado ‘Cuando el reloj marca la medianoche’. Por su trabajo, Robert recibió el premio Keith Cutler de la Asociación de Directores de Cine de Canadá.

En 2021, fundó Broken Cycle Media, una empresa independiente de comunicación audiovisual e impresa. Desde entonces, ha colaborado con diversas organizaciones, gobiernos y empresas de Yukon, como la Nación Selkirk, la Dirección de Educación de las Primeras Naciones de Yukon, el Departamento de Salud y Servicios Sociales del Gobierno de Yukon y Gunta Business.

Robert Joe grew up in the rural community of Pelly Crossing, home of the Northern Tutchone Nation. In 2013, Robert became the first Indigenous graduate of Capilano University’s Motion Picture Arts program. In 2012, he was one of three students selected to direct a 10-minute short film titled When the Clock Strikes Midnight. For his work, Robert received the Keith Cutler Award from the Directors Guild of Canada.

In 2021, he founded Broken Cycle Media, an independent audiovisual and print communications company. Since then, he has collaborated with various organizations, governments, and businesses in Yukon, including the Selkirk First Nation, the Yukon First Nations Education Directorate, the Government of Yukon’s Department of Health and Social Services, and Gunta Business.
