The organization of Almeria Western Film Festival (AWFF) 2014 published the guidelines for the WESTERN 2014 program section which will provide an overview of current films of this genre. The registration period is open from August 1 and closes on the 31st of the same month. The Festival, organized by the City of Tabernas, has the main objective to promote the dissemination of Western genre films that contribute to the body of world cinema.

Only Feature films completed in 2013 and 2014 may participate. No entry fee. The guidelines can be found at

From the films in competition at the WESTERN 2014 section, the jury will decide the 'Almeria Western Film Festival 2014' award. The audience will decide for the AWFF audience award. The Festival will also give an honorary lifetime achievement award, 'Tabernas 2014'.

The Festival includes other non-competitive sections; 'Retrospective', a selection of feature films that were filmed in Almería in the times of the 'spaghetti western'; also 'Videos', such as documentaries, experimental or music related to the Western; and a compilation of commercials and music videos, shot in Almería known as 'Land of Cinema/ Tierra de Cine'.
