Jake also wrote, produced and starred in the IFC Films No Man’s Land. The border-drama also stars Frank Grillo, Andie MacDowell and George Lopez. The film came in #2 at the opening weekend box office. The New York Times raved “No Man’s Land turns the border between Texas and Mexico into a gateway to racial empathy”, and the Los Angeles Times referred to the film as “an immigration tale told with empathy and humanity”.
A co-founder of Margate House Films, a family-run production company launched with his father Rob Allyn and brother Conor Allyn, the company was built on one principle: Genre with Purpose.
The award-winning outfit has produced a variety of films and documentaries, including NETFLIX ORGINAL and Tribeca-selected I’m No Longer Here, period-adventure Edge of the World which Samuel Goldwyn Films released starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, along with their IFC Films modern-western No Man’s Land, and SABAN FILMS horror In The Fire starring Amber Heard.
Also starring in Ride, Jake’s acting credits include a range of starring roles and high-quality supporting. Lead roles include No Man’s Land opposite Frank Grillo and George Lopez, the hit BET series The Quad beside Tony-winner Anika Noni Rose, the upcoming AMAZON/MGM series The Baxters, and Jake is headlining a 1,500 theatrical release of New York Times’ best selling romance feature adaptation Someone Like You for Christian favorite FATHOM EVENTS on April 2, 2024. Jake’s supporting roles come in NETFLIX thriller Sweet Girl, starring Jason Momoa, and the Blumhouse horror Run Sweetheart Run which AMAZON released. Directed by Shana Feste, the film premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
Jake currently resides in Los Angeles.
